How to Coordinate Teamfights in Solo Queue (Without Voice Chat)

The Ping System: Your Only Communication Tool

In solo queue, pings are your only way to communicate. Use them effectively:

• "On my way" — use this BEFORE you rotate, not when you're already there. Give your team 5 seconds to prepare.
• "Retreat" — use this when you see a gank coming, not after your teammate is already dead.
• "Attack the enemy" — ping the specific target you want your team to focus. Don't just ping randomly.
• Objective pings — ping Tyrant/Overlord 30 seconds before they spawn. Not 5 seconds before.

One ping is a suggestion. Two pings is a request. Three pings is annoying and will get you muted. Never ping more than twice for the same thing.

Reading Your Teammates' Intentions

Since you can't talk, you need to read your teammates' intentions from their positioning:

• If your tank is walking toward the enemy team, they want to engage. Follow them or ping retreat.
• If your ADC is walking away from a fight, they don't want to fight. Don't engage — you'll be alone.
• If your jungler is pathing toward an objective, they want to take it. Rotate to help.
• If someone is pinging "retreat" repeatedly, listen to them. They see something you don't.

The most common solo queue mistake: one person engages, the rest of the team hesitates, the engager dies, and then the team fights 4v5 and loses. If someone engages, commit — even if it's a bad engage. A bad engage with 5 people is better than a good engage with 1.

Data note

Stats from Camp HOK international ranked (synced 2026-08-07), cross-checked against HoKStats.gg builds and counters. 国服 (王者荣耀) runs on a faster patch cycle with a larger hero pool and different ban culture — use CN guides for mechanics and combos, but draft off global win/pick/ban numbers on this site.
