Jungle Tracking — How to Always Know Where the Enemy Jungler Is

By HOKMeta · Published 2026-01-15 · Updated 2026-08-07

The Level 1 Information Game

The game starts at 0:00, but jungle tracking starts at 0:35 — when minions meet in lane.

At 0:35, look at the minimap. Which side lane arrived late to their minions? That lane leashed for their jungler, which means the enemy jungler started on that side of the map.

If bot lane arrived late → enemy jungler started blue buff.
If top lane arrived late → enemy jungler started red buff.

This single piece of information tells you:
• Which direction the enemy jungler is pathing.
• Which lane they'll gank first (the opposite side of their start).
• When they'll finish their clear (about 1:50-2:05).
• Where their second buff will respawn (5:00 from their start time).

If you know the enemy started blue, they'll gank top at ~2:00. Ping your top laner to play safe. If you're the jungler, you can now path to counter-gank or invade their opposite-side jungle.

Camp Respawn Timers: Your Second Tracking Tool

Every jungle camp has a respawn timer. Buffs respawn 90 seconds after being cleared. Regular camps respawn 75 seconds after being cleared.

If you see the enemy jungler clear their red buff at 1:40, you know it respawns at 3:10. If you see them gank bot at 2:10, you know their top-side jungle is up and undefended. Invade it.

Advanced tracking: if you steal the enemy's blue buff, note the time. It respawns 90 seconds later. Be there when it respawns. Steal it again. Now the enemy jungler has been without blue buff for 3+ minutes. They're behind in XP, gold, and tempo. You've won the jungle matchup without fighting them once.
