How Farming Actually Works — The Economy Guide Nobody Explains

Last-Hitting: The Most Important Mechanic Nobody Teaches

In HOK, you get gold from minions even if you don't last-hit them — but you get about 30% more gold if you do last-hit. Over the course of a 15-minute game, that 30% difference adds up to roughly 1,500-2,000 gold. That's a full item. That's the difference between killing the enemy ADC and leaving them at 10% HP.

Practice last-hitting. Go into practice mode, pick your main hero, and just last-hit minions for 5 minutes. Do this once a day. Your CS (creep score) will improve dramatically within a week.

General CS benchmarks:
• ADC: aim for 8+ CS per minute
• Mid: aim for 7+ CS per minute
• Clash: aim for 6+ CS per minute
• Jungle: don't count CS, count camps cleared

Wave Management: Push, Freeze, or Slow Push

There are three things you can do with a minion wave:

Push: kill the enemy minions as fast as possible so your wave crashes into their tower. Do this when you want to roam, recall, or take an objective.

Freeze: only last-hit minions, don't push. Keep the wave near your tower. Do this when you're behind or when the enemy jungler is nearby and you don't want to overextend.

Slow push: kill only the ranged minions, let your melee minions stack up. Do this when you want to build a big wave to crash into the enemy tower, usually before an objective fight.

Stats from Camp HOK international ranked (synced 2026-08-07), cross-checked against HoKStats.gg builds and counters. 国服 (王者荣耀) runs on a faster patch cycle with a larger hero pool and different ban culture — use CN guides for mechanics and combos, but draft off global win/pick/ban numbers on this site.
